PROGRAMME
Tonight's 10 dances are hidden in the narrative below, all you have to do is find them!
Tonight's social is our
final Monday meeting before we take our usual 2 week break over Easter. With
all the bad weather we've experienced over the past months, everyone's joie
de vivre needs a bit of a lift so, while Caroline and Graham are off to
Canada chasing the eclipse, here is a short haul option for the aviators
among you.
You could take a trip to
Edinburgh for a stroll along the Water of Leith from the city centre all the
way to the Port of Leith with its stunning views over the Firth of Forth and
the island of Inchmickery. The port itself is a fascinating place to explore
and there is a signposted walk that starts at the Ocean Terminal, the
shopping mall where the Royal Yacht Britannia is berthed and can be visited,
then continues toward the old docks, and the newly regenerated quayside
buildings of Edinburgh's old port with its many restaurants and bars.
Alternatively, visit the Port of Leith Distillery and sample their acclaimed
single malt scotch. Misty evenings are not uncommon at this time of year in
Leith, so be sure to carry some warm clothes at all times.
Even if you don’t fancy a
trip away there are still plenty of other activities in London while there’s
no dancing. Mastering your other hobbies, for example, will keep you busy
all through the Spring. Fling reels, jigs and strathspeys aside then for a
couple of weeks and come back in April refreshed and ready to go again.
