Held at Church of the Ascension, The Avenue, Wembley from 8pm on Monday 16th March 2015. Tunes for Members Two of the best things about Scottish dancing are the friends that we make and the seemingly endless supply of excellent tunes to dance to. Tunes are written for any number of reasons but are often dedicated to specific individuals, such as Helen Black of Inveran, and it is a real honour to have a tune written for, and named after you. However, there are a number of tunes that simply specify the person's christian name and his gives us the opportunity to dance to them in honour of our own members.
Apologies to those members whose tunes I couldn't find suitable recordings for - such as Valerie's Strathspey, Brenda's Bacon Butty, Eileen's Strathspey, Pam's Magic Harmonies, Marci[a]'s Strathspey, Dusty Bob's Jig, A Jig for Tony and Celia*, Reel for Nick[y], Sheena's Fiddle, Jim's Delight, Wendy's Jig, Dr Keith or Graham's Reel. Special apologies to Jonathan, Geraldine, Ludka and Gay - I couldn't find tunes for them! * - it's actually called "A Jig for Tony and Betty" but I couldn't find any tunes specifically for Celia - sorry! |
